Last week, I gave a presentation on “Architecting for Success” at the SharePoint Technology Conference in San Francisco. It was a subset of full day workshop titled “Success with SharePoint – From Start to Finish”. For those of you interested, I’m making the presentation available for download here. Refelo, I met you at the recent SPTech conference in SF. I have a general SP question to ask you. IF the max column size in SQL server is 2GB (depends on format), Does SP have any features within it to automatically handle the spanning of a document across multiple columns? (e.g. taking a video file of 8GB and splitting it into 4 columns of 2 GB each for storage, then reassembling them together when queried). I also do not know whether or not SharePoint automatically defaults any document > 2GB into the file system with a logical pointer to it stored within the database.
Thanks, Molly from VA
